We head for the Reykjanes peninsula where the Atlantic ridge rises above the ocean. We pass the lighthouse on the westernmost tip of the peninsula which is a magnificent area with rich bird life. You can hear the surf crashing against the beautiful basalt cliffs.
After a short stop at the Blue Lagoon we continue to Reykjavík and from there we join the Gullfoss & Geysir Express tour.
We start by visiting Þingvellir, Iceland’s first National Park and site of the oldest Parliament in the world. We then continue onwards to view the majestic and beautiful glacial waterfall Gullfoss and the incredible spouting hot springs of Geysir and Strokkur.
On our way back, we stop at Hveragerði village with its numerous greenhouses before travelling over the mountain heath Hellisheiði back to the Reykjavik.
A great tour for those who don't have much time but wish to make the most of their experience in Iceland.
